With spring weather near, it’s time to hang up the bulky clothes and bring out our breathable warm weather fabrics. Though dresses and skirts are ideal for warm spring breezes, denim jeans are a mainstay in everyone’s wardrobe year around. We love our denim here at Style Room 326 and new trends (along with the classics) have gotten us excited! Let’s take a look at some of the best denim options from which to choose this spring.
Skinny jeans still reign supreme this year. They have been on top for years now and though some new styles have taken over the spotlight, skinnies are still plentiful and pretty much a staple for ladies of all ages.
Flare Leg Jeans
Flare leg jeans have come back over the last couple of seasons. The higher the waist the better when trying to create the illusion of long and lean legs. Also, keep the inseam long and the platform shoes high! These are a statement silhouette and work well for evening drinks or a Saturday afternoon Sip and Shops. A throwback from the 1960s and 70s (and again in the 90s), this is a style we are pleased to welcome back!
Wide Leg Jeans
One of the most forgiving jean styles, the wide leg jean combines comfort and chic. This is a good option if you want to conceal problem areas in the hips or thighs. The cut comes straight down from the width of the hips and doesn’t hug your curves. Again, a high waist is most flattering and a chunky platform shoe will make you look like you have legs for days! Keep your top simple and sleek to balance the proportion of the wide leg.
Straight Leg Jeans
A true classic, straight leg jeans have came back for 2017. This relaxed fit style is perfect for wearing with your favorite sneakers or flats. For added style, cuff the bottom and add wedges, heels or ankle boots. There was a time when you couldn’t find straight leg jeans anywhere in stores, but now every denim brand has options. It’s a no-brainer to have a straight leg pair in your rotation.
Distressed and Decorated
This is a new one for this season. Yes, the distressed look was big last year, however this year elaborate applique, embroidery, and fun details also are popular. This trend can skew young, so if you are over 30 it may be something you try for novelty but not for your regular rotation. However, spring is a great time to give new trends a try!
So let us know in the comments below! What’s the denim style you are looking forward to trying this spring?
